We are seeking a detail‑oriented, service‑driven HR professional who thrives in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment. As the first point of contact for the HR Service Center, you will support IU Health team members statewide by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and processing HR transactions with accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality. This role is essential in ensuring that team members receive timely and reliable support across a wide range of HR programs, systems, and policies.

The Scope:Â
The HRSS Specialist I plays a critical role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely HR support for IU Health's statewide workforce. This role handles a high volume of inbound calls and written requests, processes HR transactions in Oracle, and partners closely with HR colleagues across the system to ensure team member needs are met efficiently.
This work includes supporting complex leave‑related processes, managing timecard accuracy, and escalating issues appropriately to maintain a seamless team member experience.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
High School Diploma/GED required
0–3 years of relevant experience
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently
Preferred
Associate’s Degree preferred
Previous call center experience
Previous Human Resources experience
Experience with:
Oracle HR systems
UKG
Leave programs
Short‑term disability
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, search functions, removing duplicates)
Key Responsibilities: Operational & Service‑Driven Excellence
HR Service Center Support: Serve as the first point of contact for statewide HR inquiries via phone and written communication, providing guidance on HR policies, programs, benefit plans, and leave processes.
Transaction Processing: Process, troubleshoot, and approve a high‑volume of Oracle HR transactions, ensuring accuracy of team member data across the system.
Timecard Management: Support the processing and verification of approximately 500 timecards for team members on leave, ensuring deadlines are met.
Data Verification & Reporting: Review and interpret HR data, run Excel‑based reports, and support team member data accuracy across multiple HR functions.
System Testing & Problem Solving: Participate in testing for HR system updates or enhancements; identify and report issues, trends, or gaps in HR processes.
Leave & Disability Support: Assist team members with questions related to leave programs and short‑term disability, escalating complex cases as appropriate.
Cross‑Functional HR Collaboration: Partner with HR colleagues across the system to resolve team member needs, align on processes, and ensure consistent service delivery.
Critical Thinking & Issue Resolution: Apply strong problem‑solving skills to resolve inquiries, troubleshoot system issues, and maintain service quality.
