Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, air handlers, condensing units, exhaust fans, make-up air units, VAV boxes, and related mechanical equipment.
- Install and modify ductwork, equipment supports, and associated HVAC components under project specifications.
- Assist with equipment replacements and retrofit installations on commercial construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals.
- Perform routine installation tasks independently while seeking guidance on more complex assignments.
- Assist with equipment startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used, and project progress.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to support project schedules.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site safety requirements.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and apprenticeship coursework to develop HVAC installation knowledge and skills.

Required Skills/Abilities
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to build a career in the HVAC industry.
- Ability to read or learn to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation specifications.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and HVAC installation equipment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with the construction team.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrollment in or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship or trade school program preferred.
- Previous construction, mechanical, or HVAC experience is a plus but not required.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and overhead work.
- Ability to work on rooftops, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
- Must possess the ability to adjust focus for close-up work, with or without correction.
