Job DetailsJob Location: Irsay YMCA - Indianapolis, IN 46225Position Type: Part TimeJob Category: Health and WellnessBenefits Include Free YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Membership 20 Hours Per Week of Free Child Care Flexible Hours/ Scheduling Retirement Discounted Program Fees Professional Development The Program Instructor is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and high-quality classes or programs in assigned areas such as health, wellness, sports, group exercise, fitness, recreation, or other specialty programs.  This role creates a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment that supports participant safety, skill development, confidence, continued participation, and connection to the YMCA community. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age.  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Experience coaching, teaching, instructing, or leading structured programs preferred.  Knowledge of basic exercise science, fitness leadership, sports instruction, recreation, or the assigned program area preferred.  Ability to demonstrate assigned curriculum, skills, movements, or activities safely and effectively.  Ability to provide clear directions, visually monitor participants, and respond appropriately to safety needs.  Strong communication, relationship-building, and participant service skills.  Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within the required YMCA timeline.
