AUTOMATIC DOOR FIELD TECH: A CAREER FOR THOSE WITH BRAINS AND BRAWN

Get the best of blue collar and white collar work as an automatic door field service technician! Â
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY FOR AN AUTOMATIC DOOR TECH?
A typical day begins at our shop with a caffeine jolt, a restock of service vehicles, and assignment of daily service calls. Technicians then travel to 4-6 customer locations within our service area where they troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs. This involves selling parts, filling out paperwork with a pen or digitally on a tablet to document the superb work being performed, and helpfully answering customer questions, providing technical support/customer education, and converting any grumpy customers into happy ones. Additional calls along a route may be added if they come in, so be prepared to call an audible. A day ends by driving directly home from your last call and putting your feet up. Also we don't just handle the old and broken, but we do shiny new doors too! Our door techs can have the fun of installing those new door systems as well. Variety is the spice of life for an automatic door tech.

*Want to know how to get your foot in the door? Include a cover letter with your resume! We read every single application, so stand out from the crowd. Helpful hint #2: Don’t call us, we’ll call you. We are pretty busy so we will contact those we wish to interview. Hint # 3 We work on automatic pedestrians entrances, not the garage doors. If someone drives a car through one of our doors, one of our techs is having a bad day!
