Job Description:
The Manager, Manufacturing Systems IT Development and Operations provides direct oversight of internal IT staff, suppliers, technologies, functions, and processes as assigned. This individual manages internal technical team, tracks operations performance, and handles day to day operations and development of global manufacturing systems. Manufacturing systems includes those IT applications that interface with plant floor assembly devices and devices used in product distribution services such as label printing and RF devices. This person serves as Product Owner, and works in conjunction with IT Operations, Architecture and IT Security to ensure the technology landscape is stable, supportable, and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide technical and process management oversight to IT infrastructure technologies, functions, applications, and people relating to manufacturing systems operations and development
· Manage service providers and track operational performance in accordance with agreed service levels
· Ensure operational adherence to IS&S ITIL-based IT Service Management policies and processes.
· Ensure adherence to Product management and agile scrum approach.
· Manage day-to-day service delivery and application development escalations
· Ensure that contingency planning is executed for manufacturing systems
· Direct the team responsible for Manufacturing Execution Systems that support plant assembly and distribution operations
· Identify and execute continual service improvement initiatives
· Liaison with PMO and other implementation teams to help ensure operational readiness of manufacturing system IT projects
· Liaison with Scrum master and product owners in successful execution of sprints and releases.
· Liaison with architect and IT Strategic business partner in defining portfolio projects that will be worked by the insourced MES team
· Ensure initial delivery and refresh of RF and printer devices and software to optimize productivity
· Ensure physical and virtual servers, workstations, and network components are updated with vulnerability patching and risk mitigation
· Maintain a strong customer service focus and ability to engage with employees and suppliers at all levels of the organization
Key Performance Measures:
Critical systems availability related to assembly plant and customization/distribution center operations as related to IT components
% of application, server and peripheral items monitored and alerting
Manufacturing and Distribution incident meantime to resolve
Enhancement request meantime to fulfill
Demonstrate that continency planning is complete, managed, and tested
Qualifications:
Associates degree or equivalent related job experience. Bachelor’s degree in CS, CIS, CIT, EE, EET or similar technical field preferred.
Experience:
Required
· 8 + years experience in an IT support role
· 5 + years directly supporting or managing the manufacturing systems. This should include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems such as Cimplicity,
· Working familiarity with ITIL service management concepts and principles
· Working familiarity with PMP Project Management concepts and principles
· Proficient in agile scrum and product management approach
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks
· Ability to manage a global staff
Preferred
· 8 + years of IT manufacturing systems support or management experience in a highly outsourced environment
· ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation, PMP, or relevant technical certifications
· Experience with ServiceNow ITSM
· Experience with the Cimplicity SCADA or similar software
· Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools
