Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician II to join our team. In this role, you will configure, install, and service security electronic control and monitoring systems for correctional, government, and commercial customers. You will work across a range of technical disciplines—including access control, video surveillance, audio communications, and PLC-based systems—while interfacing directly with customers and collaborating with engineers, fellow technicians, and subcontractors. This is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position reporting to the Operations Project Manager. Frequent day and overnight travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Possess the ability to assemble and wire custom control panels, while adhering to schematic diagrams and panelÂ
layout drawingsÂ
• Install, terminate, test, and commission security electronics equipment, including, but not limited to, accessÂ
control systems, analog and IP video systems, intelligent locking systems, network switches, audioÂ
communications systems and PLC-based touchscreen control systemsÂ
• Configure security devices and systems such as IP cameras, VMS systems, access controlÂ
• Install raceway and cable for security electronics equipmentÂ
• Assist and work with other electronic technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.Â
• Maintain positive budgets on assigned project functionsÂ
• Perform maintenance/service on installed equipment at customer facilities, and generate reports detailingÂ
problems/solutionsÂ
• Ability to work with customers with professionalism and maturityÂ
• Willingness to learn new systems, technologies, and productsÂ
• Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and work well in a team settingÂ
• Complete assigned projects from start to finish providing needed, system configuration, installation, andÂ
customer interfacing
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
• High School Diploma and 2-year technical associates degree (preferred)Â
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software productsÂ
• Skilled in working with common hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, and cable testing equipmentÂ
• Previous experience installing security devices such as Card Readers, Cameras, Request to Exit devices andÂ
their associated cable/conductorsÂ
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair systemsÂ
• Experience configuring security equipment such as IP based Cameras and Video Management SystemsÂ
Functional Requirements:
•Applicant must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordÂ
• Applicant will be subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screenÂ
• Frequent day and overnight travelÂ
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift items up to 75lbs
