The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Engineering Intern for our Transportation group in our Indianapolis office.

Position Overview:

Internship positions at PRIME provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific field of study. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides interns with invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

Primary Responsibilites:

Performing routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision on roadway/multimodal/highway/bridge design projects as the primary focus with possible exposure to inspection as well.
Using computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Collecting and preparing data for evaluation.
Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
Providing support to Engineering staff members as needed (drafting, computations, reviewing/proofing, field work etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program, with a concentration in transportation, traffic, or structural bridge design.
Ability to work a hybrid schedule 1-2 days in office.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation or Bentley ORD, preferred.
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
