Position Summary
Employees in this job complete a variety of professional engineering assignments. The duties of a water resource project engineer will vary between positions, but generally, a water resource engineer works on designing pump systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, and pipelines.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete studies, reports, and investigations of water, wastewater, and drainage issues based upon needs and desires of clients
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Develop plans, specifications, and probable opinion of construction cost estimates for water and wastewater projects
- Complete design calculation utilizing spreadsheets and computer-based design softwareÂ
- Complete computer modeling for water distribution, wastewater collection and drainage systemsÂ
- Prepare permit applications relative to water and wastewater facilities.
- Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associationsÂ
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants and provide technical support
Requirements

Education and/or Experience
- 0-4 Years of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering. Include GPA in Education & Certification.
- EIT Preferred. If candidate has not obtained EIT, indicate expected date for attaining EITÂ
- Sufficient experience and proper competency to serve project engineering client needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Strong organization and time management skillsÂ
