COMPENSATION
Compensation for roles at Coachella Valley Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set.  As required by local law, Coachella Valley Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California.
Responsibilities
​ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
- ​Complete activity assessment through patient observation and patient/family interview, obtain information on the patient’s needs, skills, interests and limitations for the development and implementation of the treat plan.Â
- ​Plan, organize, direct and implement the activities within the treatment program to facilitate patient progress with treatment goals.Â
- ​Plan and implement an activities program including but not limited to therapeutic leisure skills and activities, leisure education and leisure awareness.Â
- ​Facilitate and lead activity sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being.Â
- ​Instruct patients in activities and techniques, such are sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques designed to meet their specific needs.Â
- ​Develop treatment plans and implement activity interventions that meet patient needs and interests and help the patient achieve his/her treatment goals.Â
- ​Plan and implement activity interventions that promote a safe use of leisure time.Â
- ​Provide activity interventions to promote the development of social skills and leisure independence.Â
- ​Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups.Â
- ​Direct and supervise activity staff in their implementation of the activity therapy program and services, if applicable. Â
- ​Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.Â
​OTHER FUNCTIONS: Â
- ​Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.Â
Qualifications
​EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Â
- ​Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field required. Â
- ​Master’s degree preferred. Â
- ​Two or more years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility is required.Â
​LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Â
- ​CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).Â
- ​First aid may be required based on state or facility.Â
