We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician Maintenance Advanced to support our cheese manufacturing operations. This role requires advanced maintenance knowledge with a strong emphasis on sanitary welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining equipment reliability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

From cheese processing to packaging, your work will directly impact product quality, equipment reliability, food safety, and overall plant performance.

What You'll Do
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Execute sanitary TIG welding and fabrication on stainless steel equipment, piping, and components in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support equipment installations, modifications, and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-related equipment issues.
  • Inspect equipment and systems to identify hazards, defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Repair or replace defective components, motors, pumps, valves, bearings, sensors, and electrical wiring.
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement solutions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Monitor equipment performance using gauges, meters, and testing instruments.
  • Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and provide recommendations for tools, equipment, and process improvements.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately within maintenance systems and prepare technical reports as needed.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure compliance with food safety and GMP standards.
  • Support TPM and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, capability, and yield.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians and assist in developing best practices within the department.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing sanitary TIG welding on stainless steel equipment and piping.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment independently.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting may exceed 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, wet, and refrigerated environments.
  • Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
