I. Position Description

The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on mobile equipment, including Caterpillar loaders, Trailers, Cranes, Forklifts, Manlifts and other gas, electric, and diesel mobile equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain s mobile equipment.
  • Uses tools and measuring equipment.
  • Complies with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Participate and support plan JTE efforts as appropriate.
  • Support and participate in plant BBS program.
  • Use mobile equipment as necessary (forklift, man-lift, electric cart).

II. Pre-Hire Requirements

  • Diagnostic experience with diesel
  • High school diploma or GED diploma
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years’ experience as a mobile equipment mechanic
  • Must hold relevant Certifications as a trained Mobile Mechanic
  • Basic automotive mechanic hand tools

III. Qualifications

  • Environmental training applicable to the job
  • Safety training for applicable equipment
  • Job instructional training
  • Quality system familiarization
  • EMS ISO 14001, 9001, and 45001 awareness.   Plant EMS objectives and targets
  • Significant environmental air aspects and impacts
  • Active participation and support of plant JTE initiative and activities.

IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear; and work at heights. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.   Employees must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

 

 

 

 

 


Shift schedule is from 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Will pay an additional $ 0.85 per hour for working the swing shift.
