Job Description:
As a Logistics Specialist at Strictly FX, you will play an important role in coordinating the movement of equipment, materials, and supplies for our projects and live events. You will manage time-sensitive shipments, work closely with carriers and internal teams, and ensure materials arrive at the correct destination safely, accurately, and on schedule. Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Coordination: Coordinate domestic and international shipments of equipment, materials, and supplies to project sites, venues, warehouses, and other locations.
- Carrier Management: Build and maintain relationships with freight carriers, shipping providers, brokers, and other logistics vendors.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery, provide status updates, and proactively address delays or other transportation issues.
- Freight Documentation: Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, delivery receipts, and customs documentation.
- Scheduling: Coordinate pickups and deliveries according to production schedules, project timelines, and venue requirements.
- Inventory and Equipment Movement: Partner with warehouse and production teams to ensure equipment and materials are accurately prepared, documented, shipped, and received.
- Cost Control: Obtain and compare freight quotes, review shipping expenses, and identify cost-effective transportation solutions without compromising service or delivery timelines.
- Compliance: Ensure shipments comply with company policies and applicable transportation, safety, customs, and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, warehouse, procurement, finance, and project teams to support operational and project needs.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve shipment delays, damaged or missing freight, documentation issues, and other logistics-related challenges.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of shipments, freight costs, carrier information, and supporting documentation.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve shipping procedures, reduce costs, and increase the efficiency and reliability of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field required.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, freight coordination, or a related role preferred.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes, freight documentation, and carrier coordination.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with logistics, shipping, inventory, or ERP software.
- Ability to analyze freight options, compare costs, and make sound logistical decisions.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed when handling urgent shipping or delivery issues.
- Flexibility to support changing project schedules and occasional after-hours logistics needs.
