Job DetailsJob Location: Hiveley Corp - Inkster, MI 48141Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Shift: DayPOSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing and Communications Manager is a full-time position which reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and oversees the planning, production, and execution of marketing strategies, external communications, website, and media efforts, and supports special events, including the annual Great Hearts Gala. Principal Accountabilities: Develop and execute all marketing strategies for fundraising and program awareness Oversee the development and execution of all creative marketing materials in support of fundraising campaigns, client recruitment, and ongoing organizational needs Manage organization’s social media channels and continually develop strategies for greater online engagement with target audiences Develop and execute communications plan, including weekly newsletters, direct mail, donor updates, and annual reports Develop and maintain organizational brand identity Write, proofread, and design creative content across different mediums Coordinate media efforts, including interviews, videography, and photography in partnership with contracted PR firm Continually research and provide feedback on relevant marketing, communications, and event trends Research and generate client stories to tell organizational stories in compelling, inspiring ways Support the annual event through event materials creation, program development, marketing, and day-off execution Manage and maximize the Starfish website to ensure it is up to date, accurate, and easy to use for clients and donors Work in partnership with Chief Philanthropy Officer to train and support Starfish Board and key volunteers to leverage their voice and network in support of Starfish through social media and ongoing messaging Other duties as assigned by supervisor Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience or training; special consideration for nonprofit marketing experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong portfolio of graphic design work Excellent prioritization, organization, and project management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work with donors, volunteers, media contacts, clients, and staff in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner Skilled in writing and editing content with attention to detail Experience managing social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn Graphic design: Experience with software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Spark, or other graphic design programs preferred Photography: Experience shooting photo in dynamic situations and editing with software such as Lightroom or Photoshop preferred Video: Experience with video editing programs such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro preferred Flexible schedule Physical Requirements: This job primarily operates in-person in a professional office environment.
