Job DetailsJob Location: Camp Creek Resort - Inlet Beach, FL 32461Position Type: Full Time Job Summary   The role of Assistant Food & Beverage manager is responsible for supervising, training, and ensuring that associates are providing a 4 star 4 diamond level of service to guests on a consistent basis. Additionally, the Assistant Food & Beverage manager is expected to ensure that all food & beverage operations are completed to company standards while assisting the Food & Beverage manager. Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions Always maintain positive guest relations, and resolve complaints promptly, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction Anticipate and respond promptly to guest needs while maintaining positive guest relations and resolving complains to ensure maximum satisfaction Ensure associates are familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities, and the restaurant menu to answer guest inquiries accurately Educate associates on proper greetings / salutations and suggestive up-selling techniques to increase profit margins. Constantly find ways to improve guests’ experience Train associates about correct maintenance and use of equipment Train and ensure associates maintain a 4 star, 4 diamond standards of service in all components of Food and Beverage Conduct pre-shift meetings; review daily buinss informaiton Assign work and side duties; communicate additions or changes as needed throughout the shift Monitor staff performance, ensuring compliance with departmental procedures; correct deficiencies as necessary Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees Check servers out at the end of their shift ensuring that all side work is completed Foster a cooperative working climate to maximize productivity and morale Inspect tables and set up for cleanliness and neatness; rectify deficiencies Ensure all materials and equipment are ready for service; address any deficiencies Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness; requisition additional supplies and instruct staff to correct any deficiencies Anticipate restaurant needs and order products to support efficient operations while staying within the budget Maintain logs, update trace reports, and complete maintenance work orders; contact Engineering for urgent repairs Use all equipment correctly and safely Control labor costs by adjusting schedules based on business levels to optimize service and minimize cost Obtain and secure assigned bank and ensure accuracy of funds Process payment of guest checks in POS systems according to accounting requirements and maintain accountability to financial transactions Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, glassware, preparation methods, and garnishes Comply with all state liquor regulations, including restrictions on minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving   Maintain knowledge of table and seat numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code Communicate updates regarding outlets, associate rallies, and insurance modifications Work in conjunction and under the direction of the F & B Manager  All other duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and ready product labels and to communicate with guests Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in basic English 3 years’ experience in a supervisory F&B position preferred Proven F&B management experience Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) ServSafe Certification (may obtain after employment) CPR and First Aid Certified (may obtain after employment) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Detail-oriented and thorough Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.  Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way  Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.  Ability to multitask and solve problems independently Ability to lead, train, and manage a team efficiently and effectively Able to perform and train in all duties and descriptions of the host, bartender, server assistant, and server positions Extensive knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations, including POS systems, scheduling, and regulations Moderate wine knowledge Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email Ability to follow and enforce all Food & Beverage regulations and St. Joe standards Physical Demands Frequent standing, bending, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling Ability to lift 50 lbs Must be able to safely deliver food and drinks on different surfaces Frequent keyboarding Working Conditions Exposure to slippery surfaces and stairs depending on location Indoor and/or outdoor Exposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season and location Potential exposure to naturally occurring environmental factors such as wind, rain, red tide, etc. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.  The St. Joe Company/St. Joe Resort Operations reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs.
