The role of a CStore SSP at The Spinx Company requires the employee to work effectively in a team environment, provide outstanding customer service, accurately and efficiently conduct various financial transactions while creating a welcoming environment in support of our Company Policies, Core Values and Operations Priorities.

Job duties include providing supporting the Management Team in the management of the entire operation.  He or she has responsibility for day-to-day store operations on their assigned shifts. Ensuring delivery of superior customer service, coaching/supervising employees, cash/cash equivalent, inventory and shortage controls, maintaining a safe environment for employees, customers and vendors, maintaining store and lot appearance, food operations, and adheres to and enforces all company programs, policies and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY

The  SSP Food and Beverage is responsible for supporting the Food and Beverage Manager in the management of the fresh food and beverage operation within the store, while providing superior customer service and maintaining brand standards.  This role is a dedicated resource within the store management team, responsible for executing Company programs and achieving financial results.  The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is required to adhere to and enforce all Company policies and regulatory agency guidelines. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assists the Food and Beverage Manager in directing and coordinating staff in providing customer service activitiesas required by The Spinx Company, Inc.  Reviews and acts upon customer requests, complaints, and inquiries to ensure quality customer service.
  • Has a shared responsibility for maximizing sales and profits within the Food and Beverage department.  Controls store expenses, monitors and corrects shrinkage problems as outlined within the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and operates within established budgets.
  • Assists in coaching team members within the store to ensure compliance with merchandising, pricing, food service and administrative requirements established by The Spinx Company, Inc.
  • Plans and prepares work schedules in accordance with Labor Scheduler and assigns employees to specific duties. 
  • Ensures that the Food and Beverage operation is in compliance with all appropriate, local state and federal regulations including, but not limited to wage and hour laws, age restrictions, equal employment opportunity, fair labor standards, OSHA, DHEC, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conducts customer service, food preparation, safety, and other Company training programs.
  • Assists Food and Beverage manager by attending Food Service meetings/classes, coordinating food service training for employees, evaluating performance, implementing disciplinary procedures as required, and properly documenting actions.
  • Leads by positive example and demonstrates current ability and knowledge of all store functions, including all point-of-sale related equipment, reporting, food prep, cleaning, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Responsible/accountable for the facility, its overall physical image, food quality, maintenance, equipment, safe environment, inventory, cash & cash equivalencies.
  • Ensures that DHEC Food Safety expectations are met, achieving a minimum food safety audit score of 97% or better on all DHEC inspections.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for assisting in direction of  three to fifteen food service teammates and one to two Secondary Management Persons.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and documenting accordingly.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Required to work 50 hours per week on second shifts and weekends.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  Four-year college or university degree preferred, or a minimum of two years related retail/food management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Effectively present information to Customers, Associates and Management.   Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid in-state Driver’s License with required auto insurance, acceptable motor vehicle report, and maintains National Registry Examination Certification achieved within 3 examination attempts. Failure to achieve certification after 3 attempts will result in dissolution of position.
