Position Overview

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, is a leading manufacturer of tissue paper for hygienic and domestic use. The company is committed to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

We are seeking a CNV Project Automation Engineer to join our Chief Technology Officer organization. This role will support the development, implementation, and optimization of automation systems across converting operations, with a focus on the CNV project. The position will play a key role in driving efficiency, reliability, and standardization across manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the design and implementation of automation systems for converting lines, automated guided vehicles, and automated warehouse systems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define technical requirements and project scope
  • Assist in the integration of PLC, HMI, and control systems within manufacturing operations
  • Troubleshoot automation and control system issues to ensure minimal downtime
  • Support commissioning, start up, and validation of new equipment and systems
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve system performance
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Support standardization of automation practices across facilities
  • Maintain technical documentation related to automation systems and projects
  • Availability to travel is essential for this position in support of project implementation and operational needs across facilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC programming including Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, HMI systems, and industrial control systems
  • Experience with converting or paper manufacturing equipment is a plus
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Availability and flexibility to travel up to 50% as required to support project implementation and operational needs across facilities
