Position Summary
The Prep Cook plays an important role in supporting the kitchen team and maintaining consistency in food preparation. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen procedures
- Wash, chop, portion, and organize food items for service
- Assist cooks with food preparation and kitchen tasks
- Maintain clean and organized preparation areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Store ingredients properly and maintain product rotation
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
- Support kitchen team members as needed
- Maintain consistency in preparation and portioning
Qualifications
- Kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Ability to work with speed and efficiency without compromising quality.
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn kitchen procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Comfortable working in kitchen environments
- Ability to perform repetitive food preparation tasks
