Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity with the Finance Shared Service  Accounting team. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support Finance Shared Services Asset Management. This position will play an active role in the month-end close and financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills with a strong desire to learn. The ability to prioritize, efficiently plan work activities, and be detail and results-oriented is critical to the position.

 

To be considered for this position, qualified candidates must reside in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area to work a hybrid work structure (3+ days per week) in the corporate office located in Inver Grove Heights, MN. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that financial reports are completed on time, in accordance with GAAP principles, and that they accurately reflect financial position.
  • Reconcile more complex accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete.
  • Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and Accounting statements to provide senior management with accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
  • Provide technical Accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.
  • Coach, advise, and/or train less-experienced accountants and serve as a point of escalation for more complex accounting issues.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field 
  • 4+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of modern accounting and office methods and procedures
  • Must possess a solid foundation in accounting fundamentals
  • CPA certification or CPA exam eligible
  • Experience with Finance ERP system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others to obtain, share, verify and validate information
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
