This position is located in our Iola, Wisconsin facility

Summary Provide maintenance services and complex machine set-ups to assigned area and other areas as needed by performing the following duties and establish process setup template for all injection molded components and new tooling.

Ā 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform setup and operation of plastic injection molding machines.
  • Physically able to set-up, sample, and establish a process for new & existing tools, set initial machine configurations and adjust all complex & intricate machinery/auxiliary equipment on the Production floor.
  • Document processes and procedures and create and approve set up sheets for new molds and maintain records.
  • Have an understanding of the different classifications of molding materials and able to interpret Manufacturer's Data Sheets.
  • Set up auxiliary equipment and qualification must be performed on all new equipment before enter production mode.
  • Perform setup for secondary operations and work cells needed for proper throughput flow.
  • Provide technical assistance as requested.
  • Execute the production schedule according to plans & priorities.
  • Ensure proper 1st and last shots parts are inspected for quality are done prior and during all production and sampling runs.
  • Inspect machinery preform all maintenance work orders and identify any problems with machinery or related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve injection molding, auxiliary, and secondary operations.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems related to design and production of products. Troubleshoot process vs. tooling issues.
  • Inventory, identify, select, and prepare resins for molding and monitor parts inventory in the EMaint program established on the system.
  • Clean molds properly according to established procedures with the Ultrasonic cleaner equipment.
  • Recommend new, improved or modified production tools and equipment.
  • Train and develop new Technicians.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and basic repairs and initiate tooling repairs and rework orders on Emaint program.
  • Perform screw & barrel changes as needed.
  • Work productively and cooperatively with management and all associates while maintaining clear communications.
  • Work effectively with Tool Room personnel to resolve tooling problems.
  • Verify initial production run of new or reworked tools.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts for use within the Manufacturing Injection Molding Departments.
  • Select molding setup parameter and program machinery for existing and for new tooling to run.
  • Follow proscribed procedures for plant shutdowns when applicable.
  • Maintain and support auxiliary plant equipment.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Five to Seven years relevant experience
  • Plastics Injection Molding–Certificate/Degree
