Job Description
|  General Purpose of Job:  Develops  and implements occupational therapy treatment plans for assigned patients;  evaluates and modifies patient care treatments as appropriate. |

Job Requirements
| General Requirements | • Valid State of Michigan Occupational Therapist Certification/Registration and licensure • CPR/BLS certification • CHT preferred |
| Work Experience | • Prefer OT skilled in development of orthotics/ application of splinting who has either attained their CHT or is working toward their CHT. • Proficiency in orthotic fabrication. |
| Education | • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills | • Knowledge of occupational therapy theory and techniques • Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory standards and hospital policies related to the provision of rehabilitation services including HIPAA confidentiality and JCAHO mandates • Written and computer skills necessary to prepare required documentation • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate, orally and in written form, with patients, families, physicians, health care professionals, and insurance companies in the exchange of information. Presents self in a warm, professional and caring manner • Skills necessary to provide guidance, training, prioritize and review the work of assigned staff • Demonstrates professional appearance • Analytical ability to develop treatment plans based on occupational therapy theory and incorporation of patient and physician goals • Mental ability to complete required documentation in a timely manner, deal with the concerns of patients and their families, and handle frequent scheduling changes • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, transfer/lift/ reposition patients, assist patients with exercises, and properly operate rehabilitation equipment/devices, and access patient homes which may not be barrier free • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job |
