Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, and returning emails to ensure compassionate patient care.


Primary Responsibilities
β€’ Answer, scribe, and transfer incoming communication and inquiries by phone and email
β€’ Respond and comply with requests for information
β€’ Schedule, confirm, and maintain timely appoints of patients via phone, online, and patient portal
β€’ Verify insurance information and verify co-pays, deductibles, and balances
β€’ Inform patients of medical office policies and procedures
β€’ Virtual back-office support with chart prep, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations, as needed
β€’ Respond to incoming medical record requests
β€’ Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
β€’ Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses preferred
● Understand general administrative processes
● Ability to multitaskΒ  within a high-functioning, fast-paced, multidisciplinary medical center
● Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
● Knowledge of EMR preferred
● Individual must be skilled in verbal and written communication skills, able to read from a script
● Able to develop good customer relationships to achieve customer satisfaction
● Ability to self-manage and be productive with minimal supervision
● Project management
● Attention to detail
● Cheerful attitude


Qualifications:
● High School Diploma required
● 1-2 years experience in a medical clinic
