Your Opportunity
The Structural Project Designer is to work independently on small projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Structural Project Engineer. The Structural Project Designer will be able to evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project. Additional responsibilities include:Â
 Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projectsÂ
- Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projectsÂ
- Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the projectÂ
- Independently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.Â
- Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.Â
- Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.Â
- Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods.Â
- Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.Â
- Assist with development of design standards.Â
 Your Capabilities and CredentialsÂ
- Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codesÂ
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Â
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively.Â
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.Â
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.Â
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.Â
- ASCE41 and retrofit experience is a plus along with non-linear analysis Â
- DSA and/or HCAI experience is a plus Â
- Federal project experience is a plus Â
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
