Job Title: Senior Software Engineer(Power Systems)

Job Location: Irvine, CA

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid

ETAP, a member of Schneider Electrical Energy Management Software Division, is seeking a senior power system software engineer with strong expertise in C++ / C# development and power system analysis, modeling, and simulation. The role bridges power engineering knowledge with software. Responsibilities and duties

▪ Formulate and develop a large-scale nonlinear optimization problem in C++.

▪ Integrate state estimation engines with EMS / SCADA systems.

▪ Implement bad data detection and identification techniques.

▪ Understand sensitivity analysis, observability, and measurement placement.

▪ Experience software architecture patterns, multi-threading or parallel computing techniques, object-oriented design, and use of the Standard Template Library (STL).

▪ Collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.

Qualifications

▪ Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), or Computer Science with a strong understanding of power system fundamentals.

▪ Proficiency in C++ and/or C# and ability to work with large, complex codebases.

▪ Ability to follow various industrial standards and write specifications.

▪ Strong theoretical knowledge of power system modeling, state estimation theory, and nonlinear optimization.

▪ Highly motivated, self-managed, detail-oriented and well organized.

▪ Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with both engineers and software developers.

Education

PHD or master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering with a minimum of 3+ years of programming experience will be considered.

Salary range - 113,500.00 - $180,500 Annual base pay

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
