About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Art Director – Sharper Image to lead creative from concept through production across physical and digital channels.

 

Reporting to the VP of Design, this role operates within a 30+ person multidisciplinary design organization and directly manages a cross-disciplinary team of approximately six.

 

Sitting at the intersection of market, design, and production, this role translates strategy into cohesive creative that performs across physical and digital channels. You will play a critical role in shaping how our cross-category portfolio shows up across retail and digital commerce.

 

This role is suited for a creative who brings vision and execution excellence from concept through launch — translating product innovation into compelling brand experiences that connect with consumers.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Execution (Hands-On)

  • Execute packaging, retail POS, ecommerce, and digital marketing from concept through production
  • Translate strategic directives into clear, actionable creative solutions
  • Develop and maintain scalable brand systems across cross-category tech portfolios
  • Explore concepts from incremental to breakthrough, pushing creative boundaries while maintaining commercial impact
  • Create and elevate product visuals across 3D rendering and photography



Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a cross-disciplinary creative team spanning brand, graphic design, packaging, photography, ecommerce, and production
  • Own projects from kickoff through launch, driving key decisions and schedule accountability
  • Set creative standards and ensure quality execution
  • Provide clear, proactive communication on project status, risks, and timelines



Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Industrial Design, Sales, and Marketing to translate product vision and market strategy into compelling creative expression
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Production, and Compliance to align innovation with manufacturability and regulatory standards
  • Partner with vendors and external agencies to ensure feasibility, alignment, and execution excellence

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of professional design experience within CPG, consumer electronics, or multi-brand environments
  • BA/BS in Fine Art, Graphic Design or other related degree, Masters preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-disciplinary creative teams
  • Proven experience building and executing integrated brand systems across packaging, retail, ecommerce, and digital marketing
  • Deep understanding of packaging production, print processes, structural considerations, retail and regulatory compliance, and global production partnerships, with the ability to anticipate and resolve execution challenges across channels
  • Exceptional eye for graphics, typography, composition, layout, color, visual hierarchy, and graphic systems, with the ability to elevate product visuals across photography and photorealistic rendering
  • Ability to translate business feedback into clear creative direction and articulate design rationale to cross-functional partners
  • Strong commercial understanding of retail, ecommerce, and consumer engagement trends
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with familiarity in visualization tools
  • Travel may be required based on project needs

 

Preferred

  • Strong experience using KeyShot or similar 3D rendering tools
  • Experience directing photography and video for retail, ecommerce, or paid social
  • Familiarity with motion graphics or adapting video assets for digital advertising
  • Experience contributing to website or landing page design with an understanding of UX principles
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered creative tools and workflow integration
