Position Overview
The Vice President – Transactions Counsel will advise on all legal aspects of the acquisition, disposition, financing and joint venture of Healthpeaks senior housing, medical office building and life science properties. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing and negotiating transaction documents for acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures of senior housing, medical office and life science properties
  • Managing outside counsel and coordinating with internal functional groups in connection with such transactions
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of confidentiality agreements, listing agreements, letters of intent and other ancillary documents
  • Coordinating due diligence and other deal activities with deal team members and outside counsel
  • Managing closings and post-closing follow-up activities
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of various intra-company agreements such as loan documents, contribution agreements and restructuring agreements
  • Generating, managing and maintaining legal forms
  • Assisting with other real estate related duties as required
Position Requirements
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school and admission in good standing to a State Bar (California preferred)
  • 6-10 years of relevant REIT and other real estate transactional experience
  • Ability to manage detailed and complex transactions and other legal projects
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams, including strong organizational and project management skills
  • Salary range of $200,000 to $250,000, commensurate with experience, with generous cash incentives
