Hoag Irvine is excited to announce an opportunities for Clinical Nurses (RN) to join the new Inpatient Irvine Medical Oncology unit as part of our Irvine expansion. This 22-bed, state-of-the-art unit is seeking nurses who are passionate about oncology care and motivated by meaningful patient and family relationships.

 

About the Unit

· 22-bed inpatient Medical Oncology unit

· Nurse-to-patient ratios 1:4–1:5, based on acuity

· Primary focus on oncology with some mixed med-surg/telemetry patients

· Opportunity to help shape unit culture, workflows, and standards of care

· Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy certification supported and required post-hire

Role Overview

As a Clinical Nurse on the Medical Oncology unit, you will provide direct inpatient care in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and Hoag Patient Care Services standards. You will collaborate closely with oncologists and interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care across the cancer care continuum.

Responsibilities

· Provide safe, compassionate inpatient oncology nursing care

· Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications following ONS standards

· Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurse navigators, social work, palliative care, and case management

· Educate patients and families and support transitions of care, including palliative and hospice services

· Participate in continuous quality improvement and uphold departmental and hospital standards

Qualifications

Required:

· Active California RN license

· Minimum 1 year of high-acuity inpatient nursing experience

· Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Provider Card (or willingness to obtain)

· BLS & ACLS (AHA)

· EKG competency

· BSN (or active enrollment per Hoag policy)

Preferred:

· Oncology nursing experience
