Role Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee the full scope of HR functions for the firm. This role administers benefits programs, manages talent development and performance processes, ensures employment law compliance, and handles employee relations. You will develop and implement HR policies, maintain HRIS systems, and serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on personnel matters.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and wellness
- Manage open enrollment, benefits renewals, and employee communications
- Ensure compliance with 401k, ERISA, ACA, and Section 125 requirements
- Coordinate with TPAs, brokers, and financial advisors on benefits administration
Talent Development & Performance
- Implement and maintain talent management systems and performance review processes
- Coordinate talent mapping, career planning, and promotion processes
- Manage employee recognition programs and professional accomplishment tracking
- Provide training to managers on HR systems and processes
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Advise managers on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and workplace issues
- Develop and implement personnel policies; maintain Employee Handbook
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, CFRA, etc.)
- Manage leave of absence, workers' compensation, and return-to-work coordination
HR Operations
- Maintain HRIS database and compile reports; process employment verifications
- Maintain confidential employee records and documentation
- File EEO-1 reports and maintain compliance with EEO regulations
- Conduct exit interviews and manage separation documentation
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Experience in an A/E/C firm environment
- Experience with benefits administration and 401k compliance
