Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our talented team at our office located in Irvine, California.

 

In this role, you will provide leadership on assigned projects and act to achieve financial, safety, and client relationship objectives.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manages the delivery of individual projects and holds primary responsibility for the achievement of cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Directors and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
  • Develops and maintains written preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, obtains review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to the project team.
  • Works closely with the Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions against nonconformances.
  • Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
  • Supports Project Executives, Director of Operations, and General Manager in the preparation of project delivery proposals.
  • Works closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports. 
  • Manages changes to prime contracts, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
  • Coordinates with Accounting to invoice clients and manage Accounts Receivable to meet corporate goals.
  • Works with the financial group to manage project financial issues.
  • Monitors design content and coordinates design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
  • Prepares and manages subcontracts and purchase orders, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
  • Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.

The salary offered for this role is between $152,000 and $233,000 but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrate significant experience both in terms of industry knowledge and positions of leadership.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.

Work Environment

  • This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
  • Position may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment.

  • You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather.

Safety

  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
