Sr. Director of Program Management- Launch, Evidence, and Portfolio Capabilities
Position Summary:Â Direct a large team with responsibilities leading BU Project Management Office (PMO) in our Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Business Unit.
How you will make an impact:
Define and lead the BU PMO strategy team that drives global launch program management, executes sustaining evidence deliverables, and strengthens portfolio capabilities in alignment with executive leadership priorities.
Elevate Business Unit (BU) project management maturity across governance, resource management, portfolio management, and PM best practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with executive stakeholders, influencing strategy, policy, and organizational change across functions and regions.
Oversee execution of program plans, including quality, risk, communications, resourcing, and budget management.
Lead and develop a team of project and program managers with effective, empathetic leadership—cultivating talent, strengthening succession, and building the organizational capabilities that enable people and the business to thrive.
Establish and drive adoption and effective utilization of enterprise project portfolio management systems to support BU strategic objectives.
Partner with Marketing, Commercial, Operations, and global stakeholders to establish and execute launch management best practices, tools, templates, and governance.
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Launch PMO team responsible for:
Collaborating across PMO and cross-functional launch teams.
Developing and managing integrated launch plans, milestones, and performance tracking.
Partnering with Marketing Launch HWTLs and global stakeholders to ensure successful launch execution.
Facilitating Launch Steering Committee and Review Board meetings to drive alignment, decision quality, and accountability.
Providing clear and effective communication to key stakeholders.
Serving as a strategic advisor to leadership on global go-to-market and launch strategies.
Establish credibility as a trusted partner to global launch teams through deep product, market, and launch expertise.
Up to 25% travel.
Other incidental duties as assigned.
This is an on-site position based in Irvine, CA
What you will need (required):
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Related experience in project/program management or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Â
Hands-on experience managing large to midsize projects and/or programs of increasing complexity or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
Demonstrated track record in people management
What else we look for (preferred):
Minimum 14 years of experience in program management OR Master’s degree and a minimum 12 years of experience in program management
Executive presence
Experience working in a regulated industry
Proven successful project management leadership skills
Experience leading and managing teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
Strategic, critical thinker with the ability to address complex problems
Experience building organization capabilities and affecting organizational change
Ability to lead and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Advanced degree and/or experience in Marketing
Previous commercial launch experience
PMP Certification
MBA

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $191,000 to $271,000 highly experienced).
