A Day in the Life
The Sr. Director, Workday & Financial Systems leads the enterprise Workday Financials and Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform forĀ Onterris,Ā anĀ $800M+ publicly traded, highly acquisitive organization.Ā The role balances enterprise delivery leadership, strong financial accounting acumen, and deep Workday functional fluency, guiding a specialized systems team through platform optimization, M&A integration, andĀ operating modelĀ maturity.Ā

The compensation range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000 USD commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Team LeadershipĀ
Lead, develop, andĀ retainĀ a specialized Workday Financials and PSA teamĀ
Establish a scalable team and delivery model aligned to platform complexity and enterprise growthĀ
Provide clear technical and functional leadership across projects, enhancements, and operationsĀ
Build durable internal capability while intentionallyĀ leveragingĀ partners where appropriateĀ
Manage Workday vendors, system integrators, and advisory partnersĀ
Enterprise Delivery & Technology LeadershipĀ
Accountable for overall Workday Financials and PSA platform strategy, health, and evolution.Ā
Partner with Enterprise Architecture and platform leaders to define and enforce SDLC, coding standards, and architectural principlesĀ
Own delivery quality for Workday Financials and PSA, balancing speed of execution withĀ longātermĀ architectural rigorĀ
Manage Workday release cycles, regression testing, and feature adoptionĀ
Ensure Workday Financials and PSA align with enterprise integration, data, and security standardsĀ
Contribute toĀ multiāyearĀ technology roadmaps spanning Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, and adjacent finance platformsĀ
Contribute to a repeatable M&A Runbook for the Financials and PSA teamsĀ
Serve as a senior WorkdayĀ subjectāmatterĀ expert on business processes, configuration patterns, workflows, and reporting designĀ
Maintain deep understanding of Workday data models, dimensions, and data elementsĀ
Lead Workday integrations and data onboarding for acquisitionsĀ
Lead and champion initiatives that apply advanced analytics and intelligent automation within Finance and PSA platforms to improve efficiency and scalabilityĀ
Finance Partnership & Business EnablementĀ
Serve as a trusted IT partner to the CFO, Controller, FP&A, Treasury, and Finance Operations leadershipĀ
Support core financial processes including close, reporting, budgeting, and planning (Workday and Adaptive)Ā
Drive automation ofĀ accountingārelatedĀ processes including banking, reconciliation, settlement, and cash applicationĀ
Partner with Finance to rationalize and enhance intercompany accounting processesĀ
Own andĀ maintainĀ bank integrations and related controlsĀ
Build and Maintain Workday data models, dimensions, and data elements, enablingĀ accurateĀ analysis.Ā Ā
Provide executive oversight and functional leadership for Workday PSAĀ
Ensure effective alignment between PSA, Financials, and downstream revenue recognitionĀ
Partner with Salesforce and Commercial Systems teams to improve theĀ end-to-endĀ contractātoācashĀ lifecycleĀ
Reduce manual handoffs and system fragmentation across quoting, projects, billing, and revenue workflowsĀ
Lead initiatives to evaluate and implement machine learning and intelligent automation capabilities that would drive efficiency in the Finance functionĀ
Financial Systems Governance & ControlsĀ
Establish andĀ operateĀ a financial systems governance frameworkĀ appropriate forĀ a public companyĀ
Ensure SOX compliance forĀ Workday relatedĀ controls including access management, change management, and segregation of dutiesĀ
Partner with Internal Audit on control testing, remediation, and audit readinessĀ
Own Workday security architecture includingĀ role-basedĀ access,Ā SoDĀ design, and provisioning workflowsĀ
Partner with Cybersecurity and Internal Audit on platform security design and risk managementĀ
Required QualificationsĀ
8+ years of experience leading enterprise financial systems, including Workday Financials and/or PSAĀ
5+ years in a leadership role managing ERP or financial systems teamsĀ
Strong financial accounting knowledge with 5+ years supporting core accounting processes (recordātoāreport, intercompany, close)Ā
ExperienceĀ operatingĀ in a publicly traded company with SOX and audit requirementsĀ
Demonstrated ability to partner with senior Finance leadership as a trusted advisorĀ Ā
Experience leading platform transformations, optimizations, or newĀ implementationsĀ
Experience supporting highly acquisitive environmentsĀ

Preferred QualificationsĀ
Accounting background or prior experience embedded within Finance organizationsĀ
Multiple implementations orĀ large-scaleĀ deployments of Workday Financials and/or PSAĀ
Proven experience supporting PSA in a professional orĀ project-basedĀ services environmentĀ
Experience with adjacent platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, and CoupaĀ
Background in financial data governance and master data managementĀ
Workday Pro certification(s)Ā in Financial Management domains (RecordātoāReport,Ā ProcureātoāPay,Ā ContractsātoāCash, Financials Reporting, Adaptive Planning) preferredĀ
