Role Summary
OTA is mission critical to Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies' ability to continuously improve its products for customers and our identity as an agile, technology forward company. Engineers on the OTA team are responsible for the end to end definition, development, and integration of OTA at the vehicle level. Integration engineers are tasked with driving development to conclusion and wearing whatever hat is necessary to ensure rapid and complete delivery.
Responsibilities
- Own development, integration and delivery of new OTA features, filling in wherever necessary technically to achieve system goals
- Work cross-functionally with domain teams to resolve issues with OTA system and drive better system design
- Work cross-functionally with OTA counterpart teams to develop necessary test automation and fleet monitoring tools to ensure persistent quality of OTA features
- Perform fleet-level analysis of OTA performance to drive development and integration priorities
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working on complex, cross-functional, distributed embedded systems
- Deep understanding of networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DoIP, ISOTP)
- Deep understanding of embedded flashing protocols (UDS, SOVD, XCP)
- Strong familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and common UDS services
- Strong modern C++ (C++17 or newer) and Python (including asyncio) skills
- Experience working in a continuous integration environment
- Experience developing and integrating software for Linux systems
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent documentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience developing in Rust
- Experience with systems engineering and analysis (FMEA, DFMEA, HARA)
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity concepts
- Experience with TCP/IP systems
- Experience with remotely connected systems
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $171,100 - $213,900 USD.
The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Any posted salary range pertains only to the estimated starting pay for the role. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education, and location.
Total Rewards
Total compensation packages for this position include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
