Position Summary

Stanbridge University is seeking an independent, self-motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to identify, attract, and hire exceptional talent across the university.

We are looking for a recruiter who does more than manage applicants. The right person will actively hunt for great candidates, build relationships, think critically, and take ownership of searches from opening through hire. This high-visibility role serves as both a trusted recruiting partner and an ambassador for Stanbridge University.

Essential Functions
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting from requisition launch through offer and hire.
  • Actively source and hunt for high-quality passive candidates rather than relying solely on incoming applications.
  • Build candidate pipelines through LinkedIn, professional networks, referrals, direct outreach, Boolean search, and other creative sourcing strategies.
  • Independently manage multiple searches and take ownership of keeping each requisition moving.
  • Conduct phone screens and evaluate candidates for qualifications, motivation, communication, and organizational fit.
  • Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders on candidate profiles, recruiting strategy, market conditions, and selection decisions.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Stanbridge University, creating an exceptional candidate experience and effectively communicating the university's culture and opportunities.
  • Use critical thinking to identify recruiting challenges, anticipate bottlenecks, and develop solutions without requiring constant direction.
  • Leverage AI and emerging recruiting technologies to improve sourcing, research, communication, analytics, and recruiting efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and requisition information within the ATS.
  • Use recruiting data and pipeline activity to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Take on high-visibility and strategically important searches as needed.
  • Demonstrate leadership through initiative, accountability, sound judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Stay current on recruiting trends, talent markets, sourcing techniques, AI capabilities, and emerging Talent Acquisition practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Proven ability to source and engage passive candidates.
  • Strong interviewing, candidate assessment, and recruiting judgment.

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruiting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to use AI-enabled tools and emerging recruiting technologies to improve productivity, sourcing, research, and recruiting operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
