In the role of Water Resources Coordinator, we'll count on you to: 
 
  • Create detailed designs of water resource projects for federal, state, and local municipalities under the instruction of the Project Engineer.
  • Projects may include flood control, stormwater quality control, dams, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Prepare plans for stormwater analysis and study-level reports for stormwater projects, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
  • Use CAD application to make redline corrections or prepare design plans with guidance from an engineer.
  • Assist in developing quantities for construction projects.
  • Support projects in the construction phase, including submittal reviews, design clarifications, and construction management/resident engineer services.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of completed designs.
  • Assist the Senior Engineer with engineering studies, designs, contract documentation preparation, technical report writing, and graphic presentation.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for projects.
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. 
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Experienced with MicroStation is highly desired.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
