The Insights and Product Analytics (IPA) organization is responsible for analyzing the business performance of all products within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) business unit. This includes analyzing key client value drivers, including research content, client interactions, conferences, and events. 

IPA also supports the BTI and Gartner Product Management (GPM) organizations by delivering analytically derived business insights across areas including client retention, associate performance, budget and financial analysis (in partnership with the finance organization), and client demand sensing. 

We enable data-driven decision making by providing data, insights, and analytic tools to continuously improve our business—both operationally and strategically. 

We are seeking an Associate Data Analyst with a passion for analytical problem solving to join our growing team. This individual will support a wide range of projects related to content, client interaction, events, role and platform analytics, demand sensing, staffing models, cost reporting, automation, associate performance analytics, standard reporting, and ad-hoc analytics. In this role, you will work closely with IPA leadership to structure problems, identify data sources, perform analysis, and communicate findings. Strong performers will have the opportunity to independently own project workstreams and interact with stakeholders. Projects will include a mix of collaborative, team-based work and independent ownership, often involving automation and cross-functional collaboration with the Information Technology team. 

 

What You’ll Do 

The program includes 3–4 structured rotations, providing exposure in four pillars of excellence:
 

Advanced Analytics: 

·       Lead or support high-impact analytical projects to drive business insights across Gartner’s BTI and Product teams. 

·       Develop skills in statistical analysis, executive-level communication and presentations, cross-team collaboration, and data visualization. 

·       Gain hands-on experience and training with the latest LLM tools on a range of analytical and business problems. 


Data Science: 

·       Apply modern machine learning and AI techniques to real business problems with measurable client impact (e.g., defining features of high-impact content and/or client conversations, identifying top areas of client demand). 

·       Partner with analytics and project management teams for end-to-end visibility into how data science outputs influence business outcomes. 

·       Receive structured mentorship and guidance from senior data science professionals. 


Project Management: 

·       Manage project planning, execution, and delivery on cutting-edge analytical and business projects. 

·       Collaborate with analytics, data science, and data engineering teams. 


Data Engineering: 

·       Assist with the setup, management, and streamlining of data pipelines for multiple data science and analytics projects. 

·       Partner with Gartner’s Chief Data Office (CDO) to help manage large volumes of client data. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

·       Partnerwith colleagues to deliver actionable insights that drive decision-making within the BTI and GPM organizations. 

·       Effectively communicatefindings to drive adoption and implementation; build dashboards and reporting as needed. 

·       Own and deliver key projects, including rollout plans, success criteria, and metrics. 

·       Develop domain expertiseon Gartner’s data, analytic tools, reports, and data infrastructure. Take initiative in problem solving, root cause analysis, and devising testing methodologies for validation, and clearly explain data sources to senior audiences. 

·       Drive continuous improvementinitiatives related to IPA deliverables (e.g., new data sources, analytic insights, tools) as well as operational process improvements (e.g., enhancing IPA processes and communications). 

·       Collaboratewith the Information Technology team and data scientists to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency. 

 

Job Requirements 

·       Experience:Internship and/or academic experience involving analysis of large volumes of data, with hands-on experience using analytical tools. Ability to gather, analyze, restructure, and articulate insights from qualitative and quantitative data. 

·       Education:Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, operations research, computer science, or economics. 

·       Problem Solving:Demonstrated ability to approach complex problems, think creatively, and communicate data-driven stories. Willingness to learn and develop these skills further. 

·       Collaboration and Leadership Potential:Ability to work effectively in teams, engage with stakeholders, and demonstrate initiative. Eagerness to learn and develop leadership and influencing skills. 

·       Technical Competency:Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; intermediate SQL, Python or R, and Power BI is preferred. 

·       Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently. 

·       Location:Gartner offers a hybrid, flexible environment, with remote work that allows associates great flexibility to work from home, and opportunities to connect with colleagues for moments that matter on-site.Candidates must reside within a reasonable proximity to a Gartner Center of Excellence office location (Irving, TX; Stamford, CT).

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 78,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
