OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Driver (Non-DOT) is responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of materials while also supporting warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, inventory and material handling, and warehouse organization.

As part of onboarding, new Warehouse Drivers will spend approximately the first 90 days training in warehouse and branch operations before transitioning to full independent driving responsibilities. This training period is designed to provide a strong understanding of company products, inventory processes, shipping and receiving procedures, order fulfillment, material handling, customer service expectations, and overall branch operations.

Following the initial training period, the Warehouse Driver will assume regular driving and delivery responsibilities while continuing to support warehouse operations as needed based on business needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Cross-Training

• Complete approximately 90 days of initial training and cross-training in warehouse and branch operations before assuming full independent driving responsibilities.
• Support daily shipping and receiving activities, including receiving, inspecting, staging, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials.
• Assist with order fulfillment, including picking, packing, staging, and loading customer, delivery, and transfer orders.
• Safely handle, move, and organize inventory and materials using appropriate warehouse equipment.
• Develop working knowledge of company products, materials, inventory locations, and proper handling requirements.
• Process pick and pack tickets for outbound deliveries and complete necessary inventory adjustments and documentation.
• Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy, product labeling, warehouse organization, and proper material storage.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
• Provide general warehouse, branch operations, and customer service support as needed, including assisting with customer pickups and material-related questions.

Driving & Delivery

• Safely and efficiently complete assigned pickups, deliveries, and material transfers in accordance with company procedures and schedules.
• Work with other drivers and the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure daily outbound deliveries and pickups are loaded safely and completed in a timely manner.
• Verify materials and required documentation before leaving the warehouse and upon delivery or pickup.
• Provide feedback to the Warehouse Supervisor regarding transfer load capacity and delivery routing to support improved efficiency.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers, vendors, and branch personnel while completing deliveries and pickups.
• Collect and complete all required documentation related to deliveries, pickups, receiving, containers, and materials and submit completed documentation for processing.

Warehouse Facilities, Fleet & Safety

• Follow all company safety procedures and ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is properly used.
• Safely operate forklifts, box clamps, pallet jacks, and other applicable material-handling equipment.
• Monitor warehouse and material-handling practices to support inventory accuracy and reduce product damage.
• Communicate equipment, vehicle, or facility issues to the Warehouse Supervisor in a timely manner for inspection, repair, or replacement.
• Report facility safety concerns and urgent repair needs to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Conduct required vehicle inspections and promptly communicate delivery truck issues or safety concerns.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of warehouse, facilities, distribution, or related experience.
• At least 2 years of truck driving experience with a safe driving record.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Forklift and/or box clamp experience moving materials.
• Ability and willingness to complete approximately 90 days of warehouse and branch operations training as part of the onboarding process.
• Ability to perform both warehouse and driving responsibilities based on operational needs.
• Must be available to work 40+ hours as needed, including occasional weekends.
• Must be able to pass required pre-employment drug screening and background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of applicable DOT rules and regulations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, appliance dollies, order pickers, forklifts, and/or box clamps.
• Minimum of 5 years of truck driving experience with a demonstrated history of safe driving.
• Previous experience with shipping and receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, or warehouse operations.
• Experience providing customer-facing delivery or warehouse support.

WORK LOCATION

Onsite – In order to fulfill the responsibilities of the Warehouse Driver position, this role is required to work onsite in a warehouse environment and travel to customer and vendor locations as assigned.
