We are seeking an experienced Law & Motions Paralegal with extensive Texas Plaintiff Personal Injury and Civil Litigation experience. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who excels at legal research, motion practice, and complex legal drafting. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys, manage critical litigation deadlines, and help develop and mentor our litigation support team. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Draft and file substantive legal motions, including motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, motions in limine, motions to strike, and other pretrial motions. 
  • Conduct in-depth legal research using applicable statutes, case law, and procedural rules to support litigation strategy. 
  • Draft petitions, pleadings, responses, replies, and supporting legal memoranda for Texas state and federal courts. 
  • Independently prepare and respond to discovery requests without relying solely on templates, tailoring each response to the specific facts and legal issues of the case. 
  • Review and analyze medical records, discovery responses, deposition transcripts, and other evidence to support motion practice and trial preparation. 
  • Prepare hearing notebooks, trial binders, witness files, and exhibit lists. 
  • Monitor court deadlines, scheduling orders, and statutes of limitation to ensure timely filings. 
  • Coordinate electronic filing (e-filing) with Texas courts and maintain organized litigation files. 
  • Assist attorneys in developing litigation strategy and identifying legal issues throughout the life of each case. 
  • Mentor and train junior and international paralegals, ensuring consistency and quality across the litigation team. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in Texas Plaintiff Personal Injury & Civil Litigation. 
  • Extensive experience drafting substantive motions and supporting documents with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, and Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments. 
  • Experience preparing discovery, hearing materials, and trial documents. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment. 
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality legal work. 
  • Experience mentoring or supervising other paralegals is preferred.
