As a Medical Assistant, I report to the Practice Manager. My lead roles are administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Pain Management Provider. The role of MA assumes responsibility for insurance authorizations and backup support for both the front desk and clinical team members. As the MA, I make guest service and conveying a positive image a core part of my daily work.

This position will float between our Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and Irving clinics.

 

Lead Outcomes

  • I work with a Provider as a clinical team and support them in guest care.
  • I work with guests to answer questions, provide reassurance and show empathy at all times.
  • I provide a genuine welcome to our guests as they enter DOC and lead hospitality efforts by maintaining a courteous, attentive and professional manner.
  • I maintain guest confidentiality and ensure PHI is secure at all times. I obtain a comprehensive knowledge and working understanding of HIPAA regulations and continual compliance.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • I am able to apply DME and prepare for in-office procedures.
  • I prepare guests with all clinical and administrative information needed for surgery as directed by physician when applicable.
  • I assist with documentation in the medical record.
  • I complete all chart prep.
  • I send/receive medical records.
  • I obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information.
  • I am able to check-in guests and collect demographic information, verify insurance coverage and collect copays.
  • I provide support for front desk duties and all DOC office team members.
