Network Security Engineer (Web Proxy & Firewall SME)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Web Proxy and Firewall technologies. This role will support a critical divestiture initiative, ensuring secure separation of network environments while maintaining business continuity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as SME for Web Proxy (Zscaler, Forcepoint, Blue Coat) and Firewall (Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/FTD) platforms
  
• Design, implement, and maintain firewall rules and proxy policies
  
• Perform network security configurations, updates, and optimization
  
• Troubleshoot network security incidents and connectivity issues
  
• Analyze network traffic and logs for anomalies and threats
  
• Support network segmentation and ACL migration during divestiture
  
• Collaborate with network, application, and security teams
  
• Maintain documentation of configurations and processes
  
• Assist in security audits and compliance efforts
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in Network Security Engineering
  
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Firewalls: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Check Point
    
  • Web Proxy: Zscaler, Forcepoint/Websense, Blue Coat
    
• Strong knowledge of:
  • TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, NAT
    
  • IDS/IPS, load balancing, network security concepts
    
• Experience in troubleshooting and log analysis
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
• Excellent communication skills
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise environments (banking/finance preferred)
  
• Scripting knowledge (Python or PowerShell)
  
• Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
  • CCNA Security
    
  • PCNSE (Palo Alto)
    
  • CCSA/CCSE (Check Point)
    
  • Zscaler certifications
