Amazon is seeking an industry proven and detail oriented Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to oversee Supplier Quality Program and support supplier sourcing and selection for our Amazon Logistics Automation program.

Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, Supplier Quality Management, Audit process, and Supplier Management. Our QAE must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Key job responsibilities
• Lead the implementation of best practices quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to enable the improvement of operational performance.
• Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
• Carry out supplier validation qualification and audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards
• Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
• Monitor Supplier quality analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues. Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans. Where appropriate work with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products from suppliers.
• Develop, maintain, and improve supplier performance reporting systems. Monitor supplier performance metrics regularly: Scorecards/KPIs/SLAs.
• Analyze supplier data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement supplier risk management strategies.
• Monitor supplier certifications and maintain records of compliance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to suppliers. Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System.
• Investigate and support the resolution of supplier quality-related complaints. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
• Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards.
• Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
• Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
• Manage the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance understanding any commercial issues and impacts.
• Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
• Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.
• Ability to travel 40%-50% of time.

A day in the life
The MHE Quality Manager role involves daily quality planning—creating audit plans, performing defect triage and root cause analysis, and documenting findings.

You'll conduct supplier audits (quarterly technical, annual corporate) for Tier 1/2 OEM suppliers against ISO 9001:2015 standards. You'll visit vendors for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and sites for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Daily collaboration includes partnering with MHE Engineering, Operations, RME, and Supply Chain teams.

Internal stakeholders: Engineering, Operations, RME AE, Supply Chain teams, and equipment owners.

External stakeholders: Tier 1/2 MHE suppliers.

Customers: Amazon's last-mile delivery operations and business units above.

Problems solved: Ensuring defect-free MHE systems, preventing equipment failures, maintaining ISO 9001 certification, and driving supplier quality improvements.

The Manufacturing Quality & Standards (MSQT) team within Amazon's Worldwide Engineering & Innovation (WWEI) ensures defect-free Material Handling Equipment across global fulfillment and last-mile delivery operations.

Mission: Drive supplier quality excellence and installation integrity for automated material handling infrastructure while maintaining Amazon's ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System.

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field
- Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Knowledge of process improvement and quality measures
- Experience running metrics reports, analyzing data to identify problems and using data analysis to generate and explain metrics
- Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Experience conducting supplier audits and assessments, including root cause analysis and corrective action management methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, PDCA, control plans). Preferred Qualifications: - Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- ISO 9001:2015 Certified Internal Auditor — experience conducting process based quality audits and evaluating QMS effectiveness against ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Experience with MHE systems (conveyors, sorters, robotic systems, or similar automated material handling equipment) in a fulfillment, logistics, or last-mile
- Familiarity with Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier quality programs and experience conducting audits at both levels.
- Experience with quality management platforms (e.g., Dot Compliance or similar QMS tools).
- Proficiency in a scripting or data analysis language (e.g., Python, SQL) to support quality data analysis, audit automation, or reporting.
- Experience developing or contributing to supplier quality manuals, quality specifications, or standardized work instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional quality improvement initiatives across global teams.
- Experience with installation oversight and acceptance testing for MHE or industrial equipment.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
