Job Summary

The Senior Accountant II performs essential accounting and reports for the Company in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
•Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
•Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
•Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
•Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
•Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
•Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
•Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

•Prepares various journals, account reconciliations, and monthly reports.
•Coordinates, consolidates, reports and prepares analysis of financial transactions to aid management in decision-making.
•Effectively interfaces with other Vistra personnel to ensure appropriate accounting and reporting deadlines are achieved.

Participates in special projects as requested. Key Accountabilities

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

•3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
•Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

Skills:

• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems​

• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills​

• Process improvement oriented ​

• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
