Job Summary
The Greenskeeper is responsible for maintaining the Golden Eagle Golf Course grounds to ensure all areas are clean, attractive, and safe at all times. This role supports the overall guest experience by presenting a well-maintained and playable course. Success in this position is demonstrated by consistent course upkeep, safe equipment operation, and timely completion of maintenance tasks. The Greenskeeper works closely with the golf course maintenance team to uphold daily operational standards and seasonal course conditions. This position plays a key role in supporting the Tides Inn mission by contributing to a high-quality guest experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.
• Maintains golf course grounds, including greens, tees, aprons, and rough areas to ensure a clean, safe, and visually appealing environment.
• Operates light motorized equipment, including mowers, rakes, and trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Aerifies greens, operates sod cutters, and performs mowing tasks using rotary and gang mowers as assigned.
• Maintains daily fluid levels in equipment, including gasoline and oil, and promptly reports equipment issues or failures to management.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment and returns all equipment to designated maintenance areas after use.
• Assists with additional golf course tasks, including changing pins and tee markers as needed.
• Follows all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines while working independently or as part of a team.
• Interacts with guests in a friendly, professional, and unobtrusive manner while on course.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the golf course superintendent or management team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or golf course maintenance preferred
• Ability to safely operate light motorized equipment and grounds maintenance machinery
• Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation and safety
• Valid driver’s license with no significant violations within the past 5 years required
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to interact professionally with guests and staff
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
