Location: Ishpeming, MI

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Planner at our Tilden Mine site. This role is responsible for contributing to the maintenance team by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of mechanical maintenance planning and/or supervising in the Tilden plant. Our ideal candidate will be accountable for safe work and operating practices, hard-working, self-driven, goal oriented and resilient. 

Summary of Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures that all department work is performed in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet all MSHA standards.
  • Generates a work plan including daily and weekly schedules.
  • Provides input into budgeting.
  • Ensures that the weekly maintenance plan is communicated and planned per MPS standards.
  • Responsible for the quality execution of work and reports and recommends solutions to deviations from the plan.
  • Develops work package for various levels of outages.
  • Performs inspections to ensure equipment health is maintained.
  • Orders all necessary parts and materials to complete the work plan.
  • Ensures that all necessary parts are pre-positioned and or delivered to the job site prior to commencement of the job.
  • Works with the supervisor to ensure that all work orders are closed when completed.
  • Updates equipment history, equipment component tracking, APLs in a timely manner
  • Communicates feedback requirements for each repair.
  • Works with the supervisors, craft work/technicians, and reliability engineers to ensure the equipment improvement activities are occurring.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:    

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Supervisory experience or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Gantt charts and use CMMS software (training provided).

Preferred Qualification:

  • 2-4 year technical degree or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
