Your Mission (Should You Choose to Chop It): AM Prep Cook
We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented AM Prep Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. If you've got at least one year of experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar behind-the-scenes kitchen role, and you've never worked at The Hungry Tarpon before, this is your chance to shine! You'll be the unsung hero, ensuring our chefs have the freshest, perfectly prepped ingredients to create those unforgettable dishes our guests rave about (like our famous loaded Trailer Trash Bloody Mary!).
What You'll Be Whipping Up:
- Ingredient Alchemist: Get all our ingredients ready for daily service – think expert chopping, precise portioning, and crafting delicious sauces.
- Organization Oracle: Label and stock everything perfectly so it's easy to find and our kitchen stays organized.
- Cleanliness Commander: Keep your prep stations, walk-in coolers, and storage areas sparkling clean and tidy.
- Safety Supervisor: Ensure that all food preparation is done by the book, keeping everyone safe and healthy.
- Recipe Rock Star: Follow our standardized recipes and portioning like a pro to ensure every dish is consistently amazing.
- Delivery Dynamo: Help us receive and properly store all our fresh deliveries.
- Communication King/Queen: Chat effectively with our chefs and kitchen staff to ensure we're always ready for a busy service!
- A Year Under Your Belt: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Prep Cook or in a back-of-house kitchen position.
- Hygiene Hero: A solid understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- Knife Skills Ninja: Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic cooking techniques.
- Efficiency Expert: Able to take direction and work quickly and smartly in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable & Dazzling: Punctual, reliable, and bring a positive attitude and team spirit to every shift.
- Morning Marvel: Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed (that's when the magic happens!).
- Keys Local (or Future Local!): You must be able to commute to or relocate to Islamorada, Florida.
- Work in a stunning waterfront location with scenic views.
- Be part of a hardworking, passionate team in the heart of the Florida Keys.
