Position Summary
As a Senior Manager within Pharmacy Health Services, Retail Testing & Prescribing, this role leads the development, evolution, and governance of expanded scope pharmacy care capabilities that enable CVS Pharmacy teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, technology-enabled clinical services. The role is accountable for advancing Testing and Prescribing capability strategy, including EHR workflow development (Epic or similar), clinical documentation, regulatory and clinical evaluation support, and the translation of emerging pharmacy care models into scalable operational solutions.
This leader partners closely with Product, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, Patient Safety, Digital, IT, Medical Affairs, Operations, and external partners to design, assess, and implement new or enhanced pharmacy health services. The role supports both existing services, including respiratory testing and treatment prescribing and hormonal birth control prescribing, as well as future clinical service models and other enterprise initiatives that rely on pharmacist-enabled care, EHR documentation, care coordination, and clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Testing & Prescribing capability strategy and roadmap development, with accountability for translating expanded scope pharmacy care concepts into scalable capabilities, including EHR workflows, clinical documentation requirements, patient journey considerations, and service delivery guardrails
Facilitate cross-functional clinical, regulatory, patient safety, legal, privacy, and compliance review processes for new and existing pharmacy clinical services. Partner with appropriate stakeholders to identify requirements, document risks, support mitigation planning, and ensure service models are aligned before launch or expansion
Partner with Digital, IT, Product, Operations, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and external stakeholders to design, test, and implement technology-enabled pharmacy care workflows, including Epic-based documentation, care coordination, provider visibility, referral pathways, and supporting clinical content
Support development and maintenance of service materials, governance documents, walkthroughs, submission forms, workflow documentation, leadership updates, and executive-ready recommendations that clearly communicate service design, clinical rationale, operational impact, risks, and decisions needed
Provide subject matter leadership for field and operational readiness by translating clinical and regulatory requirements into actionable guidance, training inputs, workflow expectations, and issue-resolution support for pharmacy teams and field leaders
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, clinical operations, healthcare technology, product development, healthcare transformation, or a related field, with demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives
Proven ability to translate business, clinical, operational, regulatory, and technical requirements into scalable healthcare workflows, operational processes, and technology-enabled service solutions
Strong knowledge of healthcare delivery models, retail pharmacy operations, EHR and clinical documentation systems, regulatory and compliance requirements, patient safety principles, and process improvement methodologies
Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and build alignment across matrixed organizations while balancing clinical, operational, legal, technical, and customer considerations
Exceptional strategic, analytical, project management, and communication skills, including executive presentation development, stakeholder management, roadmap planning, requirements documentation, and data-driven decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic EHR workflows, governance, implementation, optimization, clinical documentation, care coordination, and interoperability-enabled healthcare solutions
Experience supporting pharmacist-provided healthcare services, expanded scope pharmacy practice, retail clinical services, or healthcare service delivery innovation
Experience partnering with product management, digital health, healthcare technology, clinical innovation, or healthcare transformation teams to design and launch new capabilities and service models
Knowledge of state pharmacy regulations, scope-of-practice requirements, healthcare policy interpretation, clinical quality frameworks, patient safety methodologies, and medical/pharmacy benefit integration strategies
Proven ability to lead healthcare pilots, proof-of-concepts, and new service launches; facilitate regulatory, legal, and patient safety reviews; and serve as a trusted subject matter expert across clinical, operational, technology, and executive stakeholders
PharmD and active pharmacist license
Education
Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, MS, PharmD, or other advanced degree) or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.Â
