Field Service Engineer – High Voltage / X-Ray Systems
Â
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced industrial X-ray systems. These systems include microfocus X-ray sources, high-voltage generator-based systems, and industrial linear accelerators (LINACs) used in non-destructive testing (NDT), metrology, aerospace, automotive, electronics inspection, and industrial imaging applications.
Our systems combine high-energy X-ray sources, precision motion control, advanced detectors, and sophisticated imaging software to solve some of the most challenging inspection problems in aerospace, defense, and energy industries. The role supports advanced inspection systems used in aerospace, defense, nuclear, and industrial applications, including high-energy radiography and computed tomography platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with high-voltage systems, vacuum technology, precision electromechanical equipment, and radiation safety protocols. This role involves both in-house system testing and field service at customer facilities worldwide. You will serve as the primary technical contact for customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Approximately 50% travel is required, including some international travel.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Troubleshoot high-voltage, control, and electromechanical subsystems.
- Diagnose faults in motion stages, manipulators, and CT scanning systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and system diagnostic software.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Provide remote technical support to customers when required.
Radiation Safety & Compliance
- Ensure systems operate in compliance with applicable radiation safety regulations.
- Perform radiation surveys, leakage testing, and safety interlock verification.
- Support regulatory inspections and documentation as required.
Customer Support
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and on-site service.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on proper system operation.
- Maintain service documentation and reports.
- Support system upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing customer relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience servicing industrial X-ray systems or similar high-voltage equipment.
- Experience working with one or more of the following:
- Microfocus X-ray sources
- High-voltage generators (90kV–450kV typical)
- Industrial linear accelerator (LINAC) systems
- Strong background in electronics troubleshooting and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel.
