Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm


Job Summary:

Execute duties given by Plant manager. Properly carry out draw bench and saw operations as assigned. 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload material into work centers
  • Perform the following computer functions in Plex: set-up, load job, complete job, choose proper container and maintain proper Statistical Process Controls (SPCs) as required by each specific job.
  • Operate Sheer Station - set up for specific jobs.
  • Operate wheelabrator & payoff system – keep loaded, input tags, keep shot abrasive cleaned up.
  • Operate equipment and perform tasks within both the Shumage and Saw departments.
  • Set up CNC controls.
  • Stage Material
  • Perform quality checks
  • Operate loadout system - Banding and bundling for Shumage and Saw
  • Operate fork truck and overhead crane.
  • Monitor orders and maintain proper paperwork as required by each specific job.
  • Assist with cleaning, organizing, and general upkeep on production floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • General computer experience required.
  • Fork truck and overhead crane experience preferred. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and accurately use a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow all safety and other company policies and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to measure and interpret readings using caliper and micrometer 

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift to operate machinery.
  • Ability to safely maneuver around each part of the machine to monitor and adjust the steel as it processes. 
  • Physical activity such as bending, reaching, and twisting while pushing and pulling bars or pieces of steel as they are processed. 
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend steps, stairs, or ladders to access and operate machinery and fork trucks.
  • Ability to work atop uneven surfaces to move and secure bundles of steel. 
  • Ability to frequently lift 15-50 pounds of steel bars repeatedly and occasionally lift up-to 80 pounds of steel bars.
  • Constant exposure to machinery and loud noises.
