Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Driver in Ithaca, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a retail location, you will drive patrol routes, conduct routine inspections, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with visitors and staff, and use technology to document activities. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and/or access concerns, and report observations to site leadership and appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
