The Service Technician performs a variety of support duties within the DME department. The work performed in this position helps ensure patient receipt of durable medical equipment through the retail location and DME closets in the health system, and supports evolving delivery and equipment needs related to Cayuga's Specialty Pharmacy program (including Home Infusion) and expanded DME services in support of Arnot Health.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unpack, assemble, verify, and stock DME inventory; distribute supplies to closets and maintain organized, functional storage areas
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of DME equipment (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs, nebulizers, oxygen, bath items), including setup, troubleshooting, repair, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Deliver DME items to customers; provide setup, education on safe use, and obtain required documentation/signatures while maintaining professionalism in all environments
  • Perform sensitive deliveries (e.g., Hospicare and Specialty Pharmacy/Home Infusion) with empathy, coordinating with pharmacy and clinical teams as needed
  • Support expanded DME services and growth initiatives, including service to additional locations and adapting to evolving workflows and routes
  • Clean, repair, and maintain rental equipment; complete all required documentation and assist with overall facility and warehouse upkeep
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicle; follow all traffic laws, maintain a clean driving record, and report any vehicle issues
  • Complete required trainings and certifications; ensure compliance with Medicare/insurance requirements and adhere to HIPAA standards while maintaining a professional, customer-focused attitude

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with DME equipment preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50-100 pounds, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, as well as repetitive use of hands and fingers.

Compensation Disclosure:

  • $20.00 to $25.50 per hour
