About the Role

Advion, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team at our Ithaca headquarters. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger and accounts receivables who is looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close, while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customer invoices and support collections activities
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable balances and resolve discrepancies
  • Process cash receipts and perform bank reconciliations
  • Perform warranty review and accrual analysis
  • Prepare and file state sales tax returns
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations; support month-end close
  • Create and maintain routine and ad hoc financial reports
  • Analyze financial data to identify issues and recommend process improvements
  • Assist with annual audit procedures and provide required documentation
  • Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional departments
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (JDE experience a plus)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
