We are seeking a Scientist, Lab Operations to join IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca, NY.

Join our scientific team to execute laboratory procedures and contribute to research excellence while maintaining compliance with GLP standards. You’ll play a key role in analyzing data and supporting projects that impact global health.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative lab procedures under minimal supervision, following safety and GLP protocols

  • Prepare samples for analysis and accurately document experimental workflows

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; assist with troubleshooting technical issues

  • Analyze results and report findings to contribute to project meetings and deliverables

  • Ensure consistent compliance with SOPs and customer requirements

  • Collaborate with researchers and technical teams to meet performance objectives

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab practices and data integrity

  • Support additional duties as assigned in a fast-paced laboratory setting

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in applied/laboratory sciences with direct laboratory coursework

  • 0–2 years of direct laboratory experience

  • Familiarity with general laboratory techniques such as pipetting, sample prep, and basic instrumentation

  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

  • Responsible for routine sample preparation duties including extraction of biological samples in the wet laboratory using robotic liquid handlers
  • Use and maintenance of Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers and Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) systems.  Calibration of equipment, tuning and compound optimization, integration of chromatographic peaks generated by LC-MS/MS
  • Prepares data for upload to Watson LIMS system and analyzes the data according to standard operating procedures.  Uses good scientific judgement, adhering to regulatory guidelines and proactively initiating troubleshooting experiments in response to data anomalies.  Communicates findings with cross functional stakeholders

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $46,200.00 - $96,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
